People of all ages will sleep out under the stars to raise money for a local homeless charity.

The 10th annual Big Sleep Out is in aid of Arc (formerly Taunton Association for the Homeless).

It will take place on Saturday, 15th June behind 7 The Crescent in Taunton.

The event has raised over £66,000 and has helped more than 1550 homeless people since its launch, serving as Arc’s primary fundraiser.

Participants sleeping outside for one night have previously described the event as an eye-opening experience.

Complementing the sleep-out are live entertainment by local talents, hot food, testimonials from previous clients, wellbeing activities and children’s games.

Arc ensures all participants receive cardboard for sleep setup, a cooked breakfast, and a participatory goodie bag.

With toilet facilities, first aid, and security provided, the event guarantees a safe and family-friendly environment.

People are urged to participate either alone or as part of a group, to join in on the collective mission to aid those most in need.

Somerset County Gazette:

Event organiser Samantha Parr said: "This year marks the Big Sleep Out's 10th anniversary, and we aim to make it the best one so far!

"The proceeds will support those locally affected by homelessness due to increasing living costs and the housing crisis.

"No one should have to face homelessness alone."

Arc is currently seeking participants for this year's Big Sleep Out event.
