Holy smoke!

9:23pm Friday 18th July 2008

THERE was some holy smoke at the West Somerset Railway when eight bishops from four continents paid a visit to the attraction.

The holy men came from Cuba, Africa and Australia, and were hosted by the Bishop of Bath and Wells, the Rt Rev Peter Price and the Bishop of Taunton, the Rt Rev Peter Maurice.

The group enjoyed a trip on the restored steam railway, which runs between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, as well as a visit to a holiday camp, an English cream tea.

The bishops were visiting for five days as part of the Lambeth Conference of Anglican Communion Bishops.
