Rose Humphreys of the Taunton Thespians has won the Best Costume Award at the Somerset Fellowship of Drama Phoebe Rees Awards 2023.
The success is for her work on the 2023 tour of "Much Ado About Nothing".
Over thirty individual steampunk-style costumes were designed and made by Rose herself.
She shared, "I wanted a change from the usual Tudor costumes so I asked the Director if I could do something different.
"So here is my mixture of SteamPunk, late medieval for Shakespeare’s setting and just a little nod of the head to Vivienne Westwood."
Rose hasn't put her sewing kit away as she's now creating Victorian outfits for the upcoming production, "Sherlock Holmes and the case of the Jersey Lily".
The play – featuring Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson, Lily Langtry, Oscar Wilde and others – will open at the Taunton Brewhouse from November 14 to 18 at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.
