TAUNTON Brewhouse has more than 100 events for its winter programme, with tickets now on sale.

A season of shows, gigs, cinema screenings, art exhibitions and workshops starts in September with something on most days until the end of the year, culminating with the headline event – A Christmas Carol.

The comedy programme boasts a variety of famous faces including TV and radio favourites Andy Parsons, Seann Walsh, Stephen K Amos, Angela Barnes, Geoff Norcott, Jo Caulfield, Ashley Blaker, Mark Steel, Paul Foot and Tom Stade.

Other laugh-out-loud shows include Sh!t-faced Shakespeare and a staging of radio classic Hancock’s Half Hour.

Theatre tours on their way include classic comedy Abigail’s Party, riveting mystery The Haunting and productions from South West theatre-makers including Tam Lin Retold and Speed Dial.

Family theatregoers can catch Shark in the Park and There’s A Monster in Your Show.

Music highlights include 80s sensation Paul Young, West End star Lee Mead, chart toppers The Three Degrees, rising indie duo The Dunwells and folk musicians Kathryn Roberts, Sean Lakeman and Gilmore and Roberts. There's ABBA Forever, A Brief History of Jazz, A Beautiful Noise, The Sound of Lionel Richie and Rave On.

Countryfile star Julia Bradbury will discuss her book, Walk Yourself Happy, , while Masterchef's Gregg Wallace will chat about his career in entertainment, health and business. The evening includes pre-show wine tasting.

A Christmas Carol runs from December 4-30, with original music, puppetry and Somerset magic. For younger children, there's Five Little Christmas Monkeys, Father Christmas and craft workshops for all ages.

Customers buying tickets for A Christmas Carol can donate to a campaign offering free tickets for families unable to afford to attend. There are savings for families booking four tickets for the show before the end of October.

The cinema programme features screenings of releases including Oppenheimer and Barbie, plus arts events such as National Theatre Live and the Royal Opera House Season.

The LEARN initiative consists of weekly classes and one-off workshops for all ages in art, dance, drama, theatre and more.
