A YOUNG Taunton athlete has won the 1500 metre steeplechase Gold medal at the SIAB Home Countries tournament last week.
16-year-old Dillon Millard from Taunton represented the England Schools Inter boys team at the Grangemouth stadium in Scotland on Saturday, July 15.
Competing in the 1500m steeplechase Dillon won the gold medal with a PB of 4 min 16 sec.
Dillon who trains at Taunton Athletics Club with coach Dave Lee now has his sights on representing the UK in the under 18 European championships in Slovakia next year.
In other news at Taunton Athletics Club, Junior Training (school years 4-7) will break for the summer this week and recommence beginning of September .
The club said: "We hope all our junior athletes and their families enjoy a fantastic summer, we would also like to say a massive thank you to the junior coaches and helpers who give their time each week, we appreciate everything you do."
