GARDENING expert Professor Stefan Buczacki is the special guest at Taunton Flower Show in Vivary Park on August 1 and 2.
He will judge the championship class of the photographic competition and the Ready, Steady, Garden!' designs.
Prof Buczacki said: "Having heard so much about the excellence of the event and the enthusiasm of the exhibitors, I've been promising myself a visit to the Taunton Flower Show for many years and am delighted that this summer it will finally become a reality."
Other attractions include Cannington College students building a show garden from scratch, a panel of experts answering visitors' questions in the English Garden Roadshow, a wine making tent, the Food and Farmers' Market and the Floral Tent with exhibits from across the country.
The Child's Play section will feature a safari challenge based on a Noah's Ark theme, while music will be provided by the City of Bristol Pipe Band, the Heliotrope Bouquet Jazz Band and the Sounds Alive orchestra.
Arena entertainment includes Essex Dog Display Team and the Adams Axemen.
More than 100 traders and craft stands will be in place as thousands of visitors enjoy Taunton's longest-running summer show.
Chairman Bob Homeshaw said: "The event has settled into its new Friday and Saturday format very well.
"The organisers have continued working hard to enhance all aspects of the show, which is, once again, one of the most prestigious events in the county's calendar.
"We're confident that the 2008 event has an appeal for everyone whether they garden on a window sill or the grandest stately home.
"There is truly something for all ages and the competitions for novices and nationally-acclaimed designers offer dozens of certificates and cups and nearly £4,000 in financial prizes."
