A MATRON who survived a horrific accident is back at work in the Children's Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.
Suzanne Pilkington, of West Monkton, was seriously injured when she came off her bike on Toneway as she cycled to work last July.
Suzanne, who was wearing a helmet, suffered a broken eye socket, lost her top front teeth, broke her pelvis, injured her knee and foot and suffered scars on her hands.
After checking back to work last week, she said: "I'm really pleased to be back at work.
"I missed all of my colleagues and especially the patients and it is nice to be back on the wards.
"My husband Nigel and I have been overwhelmed with all the good wishes and comments we have had.
"People I don't know keep coming up to me and asking how I am.
"We really appreciated the cards, letters, flowers and all the lovely messages of support.
"I'm also extremely grateful to everyone at Bristol and Musgrove who worked so hard to look after me - it's good to be back."
