Professional practice

BUDDING footballers at Ashlands Church of England First School in Crewkerne, have been getting some expert coaching by Yeovil Town football players today (Wednesday).

Reserve team player, Dan Thompson, visited the school this week to give budding Beckham's a shot at some professional practice, (pictured).

The Glovers' soccer skill courses are designed not only to give some expert coaching to youngsters in the area, but also for the club to give something back to the local community who have been so supportive over the years.

A Yeovil Town spokesman said: "So far the new initiative has seen 21 local schools come on board with new schools contacting the club almost daily.

"As the scheme progresses we hope we will be able to spread the coaching courses across the county, but we are anxious not to grow too quickly to enable us to be able to maintain the quality of both the coaching and the coaches to ensure local youngsters get the best advice available."
