STAFF at King Alfred sports centre in Highbridge are celebrating after being appointed a mini squash approved centre by England Squash.
The recently re-launched squash club is now offering mini squash as well as development squash coaching with a team of experienced and qualified coaches.
Mini squash is aimed at youngsters aged between five and 11 offering a fun and progressive introduction to the game. The programme is split into three levels - foundation, improver and pro, and includes an award scheme.
King Alfred coach Annabelle O'Donnell said: "We are very pleased to have received this award so soon after starting."
Duty manager Graham Furze added: "It's really exciting to see the King Alfred sports centre squash players of tomorrow progress and develop their game even at this early stage of the club's history."
Sessions are held every Saturday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm from January 12, for more information contact the sports centre in 01278-786868 or 07702-494142.
