TV appearance for driving disasters

AN ASHILL woman is set to appear on national TV on Wednesday following her bid to overcome her fears and get her driving licence after ten years of trying.

Ellena Lorien, 29, will appear on ITV's Last Chance Driving School, which sees ten of Britain's worst drivers take one last chance at passing their driving tests.

Ellena, who is a mother of five, signed up to the programme in August after she found an advert on the internet.

She said: "It was a very mad experience.

"It was the first time I'd left all the children, and was interesting being thrown in with ten people you had nothing in common with except all being bad drivers!"

Instructor Laurie-Jane Taylor from a2om driving tuition helped Ellena through her sixth and final test during the show.

The pupils spent a week on an intense course to pass their tests and a second week on extra training to ensure they were safe drivers.

Between them, the ten drivers failed 55 tests, spent £50,000 on lessons, had one license revoked and even had a road accident during a test.

The Last Chance Driving School will be shown on ITV1 at 9pm.
