Broadway Craft Fair a success

12:10pm Sunday 25th November 2007

THE fair, held on November 17, in aid of the church of St Aldhelm and St Eadburga in Broadway, attracted a full complement of stalls.

Several had been last year but there were also a number of new and unusual crafts which created much interest including carved animals and figures, pottery and metalwork insects, dinosaurs and hanging basket brackets. The church were pleased to offer space also for both the Rosie Crane Trust and First Responders to publicise their work. A steady stream of visitors kept everyone busy, especially the ladies who provided hot soup, sausage rolls and a selection of pies and cakes as well as tea and coffee.

Thanks are due to all who helped and generously donated cakes, plants, toys and raffle prizes, including Cottage Flowers and Dyers, both of Ilminster. The grand total raised was just over £750.

Anyone with a 2008 diary might like to note that next year's event will be held on Saturday, 15th. November.
