A CHRISTMAS card designed by a ten-year-old Taunton girl is going to be sent to hundreds of people by Taunton MP Jeremy Browne.

Hattie Beck, from Blackbrook Primary School, in Taunton, won Mr Browne's 2007 design a Christmas card competition.

Judges picked Hattie's snowman design from dozens of quality entries.

Mr Browne said: "I send hundreds of Christmas cards every year.

"Rather than using a conventional picture, I enjoy holding a competition for local primary schoolchildren to design a card for me.

"Hattie's is a brilliant picture which also captures the childhood excitement and innocence that is part of Christmas.

"I'm grateful to all the primary schools that participated - there were dozens of excellent entries and it was difficult for the judges to pick a winner.

"I'm looking forward to meeting Hattie and presenting her with a prize."
