GREEN fuel will soon be available to new lorries and buses in Bridgwater.

Independent oil supply company Thomas Silvey is installing a new system to allow operators of modern Euro 4 and 5 commercial vehicles to refill with AdBlue as they refuel with diesel.

AdBlue is a pure form of urea in solution, which is injected into the tailpipe where it mixes with harmful NOx emissions to create harmless nitrogen gas and water.

Managing director David Hatherell said the move should have a great effect on the town's environment.

"The system was expected to be fully operational within the next few weeks," he said.

"As operators upgraded their fleets, so the air quality in Bridgwater should improve."
