Companions club celebrate 40 years

EAST Huntspill Good Companions Club members came together on Thursday (November 1) to celebrate 40 years of friendship in the Church hall.

Vice-chairman Margaret Wall said she has been involved with the club her whole life after her mother, Gladys, joined up following the loss of her father.

She said: "My mother never looked back, we all really rely upon each other and look out for one another which is what being in this club is all about.

"There were 42 of us here yesterday - a couple couldn't make it because of illness - but we all had a lovely time and we even managed to raise over £100 to go towards our Christmas party."
