Johanna Konta's potential last 16 clash at Eastbourne with new world No.1 Ashleigh Barty is off.
Australian Barty has pulled out of the Nature Valley International at Devonshire Park with a right arm injury which is not expected to affect her participation at Wimbledon.
Barty followed up her success at the French Open by winning the Nature Valley Classic in Birmingham yesterday to replace Japan's Naomi Osaka at the top of the rankings.
British No.1 Konta, up against Greece's Maria Sakkari in the second round at Eastbourne tomorrow, had been on course to meet Barty in the third round of her home town tournament.
