AS a motorist trying to get home from the town centre, I was interested to know if any other readers of the County Gazette had experienced the time it takes to travel from the parade to the station?

I sat in stationary traffic at the lights opposite Lloyds Bank, not moving forward, allowing the lights to change three times before eventually crawling to Debenhams, where the same happened again.

If pedestrians are suffering more exhaust fumes from motorists like me, closing St James Street is a mistake.

A stationary vehicle produces more CO2 emissions.

Keep the traffic moving, shorter journey times is the answer.
