A LITTER pick is set to take place this weekend.

Keith Hunt is running the town clear up in conjunction with Keep Britain Tidy and Somerset West and Taunton Council.

It's set to take place on Saturday, May 18, from 10am until noon, and then 2pm until 4pm.

Mr Hunt said: "With the cricket world cup coming to Taunton next month, we want Somerset's County Town to look its best."

Litter that Taunton residents pick up could also make its way to a famous festival site.

Some lucky litter will be used to build a stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Mr Hunt added: "Keep Britain Tidy and Ocean Rescue Project are running a project where hard plastics, like plastic bottles and buckets, from across Somerset, Devon and Cornwall will be used to help built 'The Gas Stage' at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

"You can keep up with this if you search #RoadToGlasto2019."

The group will meet at Taunton's Castle Green to commence the tidy up.
