A SOMERSET road remains closed after a crash in which a woman was killed.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the A370 near Lympsham, which remains closed following the fatal collision, which happened on Monday evening (May 13).
The collision, between a car and a lorry, happened at about 5.30pm near the Ferry Lane junction with the A370, close to Hobbs Boat Inn.
"The occupant of the car – a woman – was seriously injured in the collision and sadly died shortly afterwards," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police.
"The road is currently closed while collision investigators complete their examination of the scene and motorists are being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
"We are working to open the road as quickly as possible and thank everyone for their patience and understanding."
