WITH 'climate emergencies' being declared by government and councils across the country, it's time to get serious about environmental issues.

But what does our MP Rebecca Pow think of it all?

Our MP is no stranger to bringing up environment issues in parliament, helping issues such as microbeads and soil, and now she hopes to answer questions you have about the issues facing the planet today.

An event is being held by Somerset Wildlife Trust for members of the public to attend and ask green-based questions to Ms Pow.

It's set to take place on Friday, June 7, at Wellington Community Centre.

A spokesman said: "This free event is a chance to hear what your local Member of Parliament for Taunton Deane thinks about all the many important and pressing environmental issues we all face.

"After a short five minute introduction from Rebecca and Somerset Wildlife Trust the floor is open for questions from the public.

"We are particularly keen to encourage a younger audience so if you are under 25 you will be very welcome.

"Tea and coffee will be available from 6-6.30pm and the main event will start at 6.30pm."

This event is hosted by SWT as part of its Wilder Future campaign and funded by the Peoples Postcode Lottery.
