TALENTED young instrumentalists from Taunton and Wellington schools excelled in a music competition held in 2009.
Alex Moyse, of Wellington School, Hannah Chidgey, of Queen’s College, Taunton, and Lewis Bristow, of Monkton Heathfield School, took part in the Sedgemoor and Bridgwater Rotary Clubs’ young musician competition.
Alex won the 14-17 age group with a vibrant performance of ‘Gypsy Songs’ by J Balogh on alto saxophone. Hannah was runner-up with her rendition of ‘Frencham Pond’ by William Lloyd Webber on the clarinet.
Lewis won the 11-13 age group, singing ‘When You Say Nothing At All’ by Ronan Keating.
