THE Princess Royal has been in Taunton this morning (Thursday) to officially open the new HQ of the UK Hydrographic Office.
Princess Anne toured the multi-million pound new build, which replaces the existing ageing buildings on the site in Admiralty Way.
The state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly building aims to provide a "creative working environment" for its 850 staff.
The site off Creechbarrow Road was in 'lockdown' from 9am for security reasons and people are unable to leave the site until 2pm.
