A YEAR-LONG Saturday night road closure on a busy Taunton road is set to begin next month.
Four hundred metres of Toneway inbound will be closed from 8pm on Saturday nights until 7am on Sunday mornings, beginning on April 6.
The closure will be in place prohibiting all traffic travelling from Hankridge Roundabout to the Blackbrook Interchange Roundabout.
The temporary road closures will impact traffic until April 5 2020.
The closure is for Somerset County Council to carry out roadworks.
A spokesperson said: "The temporary road closure is for SCC to carry out phased carriageway widening and reconstruction works. It will be Saturday night to Sunday mornings, for 12 months."
The council had recommended two diversion routes.
One sees drivers go through Creech St Michael, and returning to town via Monkton Heathfield, and the other sees drivers going as far as Junction 24 on the M5, and returning to town through North Petherton.
