A VULNERABLE elderly man suffered an attempted burglary at his home in West Somerset.
Police are appealing for information after the incident at around 12.30pm-1.30pm on March 6 at an 80-year-old's home in Wheddon Cross.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A man called at the house, apparently selling items door-to-door. The householder then found him searching drawers in the bedroom. Thankfully the man made off when challenged and nothing appears to have been stolen.
"We have carried out house-to-house enquiries and a forensic investigation.
"The man was white, in his 30s, with dark cropped hair. He wore a black donkey jacket, black trousers and carried a bag over his shoulder.
"We’re keen to hear from anyone living locally who has had someone call offering items for sale in the past few days, or who recognises this description."
If you can help, get in touch with the police on 101, quoting reference 5219048992.
