SEVERAL armed police descended on a hotel in Taunton following an incident this afternoon (Friday).
The officers rushed to the scene in a number of vehicles at lunchtime and entered the Travelodge, in Hankridge Way.
Reports say some of the officers were armed, wearing body armour and carrying riot shields.
The incident is now over.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "We were called to an incident at the Travelodge on Hankridge Way at 1pm.
"A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage."
