AVON and Somerset Police are publicising a neighbouring force's appeal to solve the mystery of a body found on a popular beach.
Detectives in North Devon are trying to identify the dead man after he was discovered at Instow at 2.20pm yesterday (Thursday).
It is believed he may have been in the water some time but little is known about him.
He is described as white, about 5ft 8in tall and of proportionate build.
It is believed he may have had some facial hair, possibly a moustache.
He has two distinctive tattoos on his left arm - one a red devil smoking a cigarette, on his upper arm/bicep and the other the word ‘east’ featured within a picture on his forearm.
He was wearing distinctive navy blue New Balance trainers with a red ‘N’ logo on the side.
He was also wearing two rubber wrist bands, one in support of Wales Online Cancer Research, the second featuring a heart.
Avon and Somerset Police have retweeted the appeal from Devon and Cornwall Police, requesting anyone with information that may assist in identifying the man to call police on 101 quoting EN/969/19
