THREE teenagers have been arrested after being caught on the grounds of a primary school.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to Beech Grove Primary School, Courtland Road, Wellington, to reports of an over-night burglary.

Officers attended after receiving a call from a member of public at 7am on Sunday morning (January 13).

PCSO Simon Bramley said: "Great work by the response teams this morning.

"Following an overnight burglary and criminal damage at Beech Grove School, three teenagers have been arrested."

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the youths were arrested at the scene but all three have been released 'under investigation'.

A spokesman said: "We received a call from a member of the public at 7am on Sunday January 13, stating that someone had gained access to the grounds of Beech Grove Primary School in Wellington.

"Police attended and detained three males nearby – aged 13, 15 and 16.

"All three have been arrested in related with the incident and have been released under investigation."

Beech Grove Primary School has been contacted for comment.
