A CHEQUE of more than £10,000 has been presented to a well-loved Wellington Charity.
Taunton Round Table has donated £11,500 to dementia charity Reminiscence Learning.
The money was raised during their Speaker Dinner which 361 people attended in November.
Jamie Pollard, chairman of Taunton Round Table said: "A fantastic evening, that exceeded all expectations.
"Thanks must go to Michael Portillo, all donors, supporters, attendees and auction winners.
"We raised a serious amount of money for a most worthy cause, so thanks again to all those who played a part and helped us to enhance and build upon what was already a successful event in Taunton"
The funding will go towards introducing the Archie Project, an inter-generational project- to all primary schools in Wellington.
Fiona Mahoney, CEO of Reminiscence Learning, said: "Thank you so much to Taunton Round Table for organising such a fabulous event - we were overwhelmed by the generosity of all who attended. We really couldn't be more proud to be the chosen charity.”
