A WOMAN was pushed into a hedge and robbed at knifepoint near a Taunton park.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the woman, who is in her 30s, was attacked after walking through Victoria Park some time between 9.45pm and 10.05pm on Wednesday, December 5.
She was in Somerset Place, heading towards the underpass leading to Leycroft Road, when she was approached by a man.
"The man asked the woman for a cigarette before pushing her into a hedge from behind after she had told him she didn’t have one," a police spokesman said.
"He then produced what is believed to be a knife and demanded the woman’s belongings before making off with a Waitrose carry bag."
The man is described as white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, aged in his early or mid-20s, of medium build and clean shaven.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information which could help police, call 101, reference 5218269730.
