A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who shared our post about a ring handed in to Taunton officers.

"Your shares meant it reached the rightful owner - a lady from Dorset who had dropped it while visiting for the day.

"She was extremely happy as it was her grandmother's ring, which meant a lot to her.

"It goes to show how much you can help just by sharing an appeal."
