TAUNTON'S clog dance team Sweet Coppin performed at South Petherton Community Hospital ahead of handing over a cheque for £425 to the Stroke Association.

They also presented the hospital's stroke unit with a collection of hand-knitted and crocheted blankets made by team members.

Sweet Coppin decided to support the unit as its charity for the summer dance out season after one of its musicians had a stroke last year.

And a few weeks ago a second musician also had a stroke and has been treated at the unit.

A team spokeswoman said: "Both team members are now making a good recovery - one is back playing with us regularly and we hope to welcome the other back just as soon as she is able."

Sweet Coppin dance a mixture of clog, north west team dances and a selection of other soft shoe dances from around the British Isles.

The group practices on Mondays evening during the winter and from May onwards dances in pubs and events to raise money for charity.
