A SECOND man has been arrested in connection with a suspected murder in Bridgwater.

Officers from The Brunel Major Crime Investigation team continue to investigate the murder of a man at an address in George Street, Bridgwater.

A man was discovered with serious injuries at about 12.30pm on Saturday, October 20 and was treated by paramedics including from air ambulance but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder; and police have been granted additional time to question him. 

A second man, 46, has also been arrested in connection with the incident and also remains in police custody.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We continue to carry out house to house enquiries and extensive forensic work so the cordon still remains in place near to Dampiet House and some of the adjoining car park for the time being.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious at about lunchtime in the area on Saturday, October 20."
