POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man died in Bridgwater.
A man was discovered with serious injuries at about 12.30pm on Saturday (October 20) in George Street and despite the efforts of paramedics, he sadly was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said formal identification of the man is yet to take place and one man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
Six police cars and three scientific investigation vehicles remain at the scene while forensic teams continue to carry out investigations.
"Dampiet House and the adjoining car park are both closed while we carry out our enquiries," the spokesman said.
"There will be a scene guard in place while we continue our investigation.
"Anyone with any information should call 101 and ask to speak to Brunel MCIT investigations."
