Storm Callum will not dampen Chard's carnival spirits
STORM Callum will not dampen the spirits of Chard Carnival, orgnaisers have promised.
After strong wind and rain has left thousands of homes without power across the UK, the Chard Carnival Committee took to Facebook to reassure people that the future looks brighter.
A spokesman said: "Final preparations are now being made for Chard Children's and Main Carnival tomorrow.
"The storm is slowly passing and the forecast for the Children's Carnival is dry, there is some rain forecast for tomorrow evening but with any luck it will pass over.
"We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for what I am sure will be a great parade."
