A BRIDGWATER family is offering a £3,000 reward to anyone who can help them track down their stolen caravan.

Tara Morgan and her family kept their prize possession Ace Award Superstar at a secure compound at Lady’s Mile in Dawlish but were devastated after it was taken by thieves on Saturday, August 25.

Having had little luck with the Devon and Cornwall Police investigation or the owner of the compound, and having accidentally forgotten to renew the insurance on the caravan, Tara is looking further afield for anyone who might be able to help.

“We are devastated,” Tara said. “We bought that touring caravan seven years ago after my husband had a heart attack and we wanted a way to get away from it all.

“It was our home away from home, and had the kids computers, a TV and wetsuits inside when it was taken and all in all it is probably worth about £10,000 to £12,000.”

Tara, 48, who lives with her family in Alfoxton Road, Bridgwater said she could not believe someone had managed to tow away their caravan without anyone noticing.

“We hoped there would be CCTV given it is a secure compound but apparently you can only really see headlights in the footage,” Tara said.

“The culprits were in an out of the compound in six minutes.”

Tara said she was frustrated at having forgotten to renew the insurance on the touring caravan, but said it had been a difficult year for the family with her husband’s sister passing away after being diagnosed with leukaemia.

Anyone with information is asked to call Devon and Cornwall Police and give the crime reference number 077760/18.
