TAUNTON-based Quantock Funeral Services has scooped a top regional accolade.

The firm was judged best South West funeral planner at the Funeral Planner of the Year Award.

Owners Corrinne and Matt Foster received their trophy from radio DJ Ken Bruce at the awards ceremony for the Golden Charter competition at the National Museum of Scotland, in Edinburgh.

Mrs Foster said: "We are very proud to have won this award and it will give our existing families who have already taken out Golden Charter funeral plans with us confidence that they are in very capable hands when they need us most.

"Hopefully winning this award will also encourage other families to contact us to let us advise them on their future funeral plans as well."

Golden Charter chief executive Suzanne Grahame said: "The award recognises the excellent service the team from Quantock Funeral Services has delivered to their local community by helping individuals through the funeral plan process and supporting families when they need it the most."
