FIREFIGHTERS were called to a commercial property in Ilminster after a fire involving extraction filters. 

Two fire engines from Chard and one from Ilminster rushed to Daido Industrial Bearings Europe on Winterhay Lane at 11.03pm yesterday (September 19) to tackle the fire.

When they arrived at the scene crews confirmed smoke was issuing from an extractor unit within the building.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and prepared equipment so they could put out the fire.

At 11.48pm the fire, which involved extraction filters, had been extinguished.

At 12.07am firefighters reported that the fire was limited to the extraction ducting.

Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, positive pressure ventilation fan and a thermal image camera.
