THREE tough ladies conquered the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Moorland Mousie Trust and Exmoor Pony Centre.

Linzi Green, Kestra French and Maria Phillips have all been involved with the Pony Centre near Dulverton for many years and wanted to undertake a challenge that would take them out of their comfort zone.

Over the course of three days the trio trekked up Ben Nevis, Mount Snowdon, and Scafell Pike - the tallest peaks in Scotland, Wales and England respectively, and have so far raised £1,800 toward their £2,000 target.

Kestra who is the charity’s fundraiser, said: “We wanted to show people we were willing to get up and get out there to raise much-needed funds for our charity.

“The winter months are tough on the charity’s finances with ponies needing extra feed throughout the cold and wet season.”

All of the team wanted to thank everyone who has supported them so far.

Maria added:“While the weather was appalling and we got extremely wet - particularly on Snowdon - knowing people were donating to our cause spurred us on

“We are grateful for everyone’s words of encouragement, sponsorship and practical help.”
