ARMED police sped to an incident in Bishops Lydeard following reports of a man brandishing a gun.
Passers by reported a stand off between police and a member of the public during the incident in Station Road on Monday evening.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "A 63-year-old man has been charged with a firearms offence following an incident in Bishops Lydeard on Monday evening.
"Adrian Gibb, of Station Road, Bishops Lydeard, is to appear at Taunton Deane Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 4, charged with possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear.
"This relates to an incident in Station Road on Monday evening."
