A MOTHER and her two daughters have rolled back the years and slipped back into their wedding dresses.
Memories came flooding back for Brenda Percy, Helen Pepperell and Susan Upton to the day they walked down the aisle of the same church 55, 15 and 28 years respectively - and the dresses still fit.
The occasion was to publicise more than a century of changing country wedding fashions at an exhibition next weekend.
The three women were all married at St Andrew's and their dresses are among 15 worn by brides there from 1947 to the present day. There will also be a display of big day photos dating back to 1902.
Put together by Clayhidon History Group, they add up to a unique account of some of the happiest days in the parish over more than 115 years.
‘Weddings at St Andrew’s’ is over three days, from Saturday, August 25 until Bank Holiday Monday (August 27), from 2pm to 5pm.
On Sunday it will be preceded by a hog roast from noon to 2pm in the church field - tickets for this at £5 can be booked on 01823-680541. Both events are in aid of the church roof fund.
