THE Victoria Park Bowling Club annual quiz in support of S.U.R.E. (Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment) was another rousing success.

This was the fifth year for the event with questions supplied by Derek Thorne and the question master was Roger Evans, who kept the quizzers entertained. 

Organiser Gail Wills said: “The quiz was once again supported by Total Care of Wembdon, while the prize money for the quiz winners was supported by H Biffen & Sons of Bridgwater. 

“Local companies and some from further afield provided the most amazing raffle prizes, and these, together with other prizes donated by the quizzers themselves, made for a great raffle.”

The final total achieved was £1,067, which was bolstered by a £500 donation from the Lloyds Bank branch in Bridgwater.

The winners of the quiz had the prize money presented to them by Carole Summerfield, treasurer of S.U.R.E.

Mrs Wills added: “In the spirit of the evening all the winners very kindly returned the money won to be added to the final total.

“I would like to thank all those who helped make the event such a great success.”
