CHILDREN in Langport have been celebrating the installation of new equipment in their play area.

Members of Langport and Huish Episcopi Memorial Field Committee joined in the fun at the launch last Saturday.

Sarah Patten, who works for Langport Town Council and who has been supporting the committee, said: "Following a consultation last year, we identified the need for new play equipment aimed at the toddler age group and worked with local groups to choose some preferred equipment.

"We were delighted to received grants from the National Lottery Awards for All fund and Tesco Bags of Help Scheme to carry out this work, which included upgrades to existing equipment as well.

"It was super to celebrate this project with the local residents and see so many children enjoying this popular facility in the heart of our community."
