A FAMILY flower weekend at Dunster Parish Church has raised more than £1,000 towards the restoration of the historic building.
The call went out earlier in the month to people in the village to come and decorate St George's.
Rev Lee Brant, rector of Dunster, said: "We had a tremendous response.
"People who had never arranged flowers came and had a go, and produced some marvellous arrangements."
St George's, first built in the 12th century and rebuilt in the 14th and 19th centuries, will undergo a five-yearly inspection of its fabric in September.
Rev Brant said: "We've been replaying and replacing tiles on the floor of the church, and we will soon need to start restoring some of the windows."
