A GROUP of travellers has moved on to a Highbridge car park.

The group, made up of three caravans, has moved on to the Bank Street Car Park.

The land is owned by Sedgemoor District Council, which says it is a different group than those who were at Pier Street in Burnham-on-Sea, last week.

A council spokesman said: "In conjunction with the police, our legal team has, this morning, served notice on the group, giving the group 24 hours to move on, as well as carrying out the statutory checks required by law at the same time.

"At this moment in time, they are causing no problems and appear to be keeping the car park clean and tidy.

"If they are still present tomorrow legal proceedings will be issued."

The travellers group who were occupying Pier Street car park in Burnham-on-Sea left over the weekend leaving little rubbish, the spokesman added.
