THREE new councillors have been elected to seats on West Somerset councils.
Seven people stood in the by-elections for Minehead Town Council last night (June 21), with independent candidates Paul David Bolton and Sandra Jean Slade elected as councillors for Alcombe.

Mr Bolton, a Non-Political for the Community Independent candidate and Ms Slade, an Independent candidate, both secured 212 votes to win them seats on the council.
662 ballot papers were issued at the vote and there was a 29 per cent turnout.
Meanwhile, Liberal Democrat Nicole Hawkins was elected to West Somerset Council for the Alcombe Ward.
