A WESTONZOYLAND-based charity which supports people living with Down's Syndrome is delighted after receiving £10,000 in National Lottery funding.
Ups and Downs Southwest was awarded the funding after a successful pitch at a Dragon's Den style event held in Burnham-on-Sea in which more than 200 people attended and voted for their favourites to secure funding.
Overall ten projects were handed over £73,000 in funding including Men's Sheds and In Charley's Memory among others.
The pitch was presented by two of the charity's family support workers Lindsay Bailey and Jackie Andrews for Ups and Downs Southwest.
Lindsay shared her experience of receiving a Down's Syndrome diagnosis for her child and the importance of receiving timely, impartial support offered by Ups and Downs Southwest.
