A MAN arrested after a two-day manhunt in Bridgwater has been released under investigation.
Armed police, a helicopter and dog units were all deployed in Bridgwater over the weekend following the reports of a man seen with what was believed to have been a firearm.
Police were first called on Saturday evening (June 16) at 7.30pm to Thorncombe Crescent in Sydenham and over the course of the weekend police were spotted in Parkway, Rhode Lane, Haygrove Road, Bath Road, St John Street, Gloucester Road and Taunton Road.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed on Monday (June 18) morning that a man in his 30s had been arrested, however on Tuesday, (June 19) police confirmed he had been released under investigation.
A police spokesman said: “We would appeal to anyone with any information to call us.”
