PLANS to convert the listed former Bridgwater Community Hospital in Salmon Parade into a new hotel and restaurant have been welcomed by the leader of Sedgemoor District Council.
Speaking after the plans were approved by Sedgemoor District Council’s officers, Cllr Duncan McGinty said: “The former hospital building at Salmon Parade is both an historic and iconic building in the centre of Bridgwater and Sedgemoor District Council is pleased that it will be brought back into use as a hotel and restaurant.
“This development will be a key feature of the town’s economic regeneration and with its prominent riverside location, I am sure it will make a fine addition to Bridgwater’s town centre.”
