Two Penryn players donned the black and gold on Monday night as Cornwall retained the Tamar Cup.

Borough's Mitch Vague and Grant Randlesome played their part in cold and windy conditions at St. Austell RFC's Tregorrick Park last night as Cornwall defeated old rivals Devon 24-12 to keep the silverware on the right side of the Tamar.

Devon opened the try scoring through Martin Browne of Newton Abbot, but, with Borough boy Mitch Vague instrumental in the build up, Wadebridge Camels' Ben Humber got over and Dave Mankee added the extras.

Humber's second with Mankee converting again ensured that Cornwall went in 14-5 ahead at the break.

Devon started the second half on the front foot and Bideford prop George Snell dotted down with Cameron Setter converting to reduce the Black and Gold lead to just two points.

Cornwall came back strongly in the final stages, adding further tries from Launceston's Jon Dawe and Kyle Speare of Barnstaple as Cornwall won 24-12.
