A PLAN for dozens of affordable homes in Minehead have been submit.

Magna Housing has submit the plan to West Somerset Council over the future of 40 affordable rented and shared-ownership properties off Seaward Way.

The homes would be a split of 24 affordable rented properties and 16 shared-ownership.

The properties would be a mix of 1,2,3 and 4 bedroom houses as well as bungalows.

Helen Rafferty said the properties 'offer a great stepping stone for young people to get on the housing ladder'.

The overall plan also contains proposals for two industrial units on the same site.

A consultation event was held at The Beach Hotel in February where the plans, which will sit on land to the south east of the Premier Inn along Seaward Way, were on show.

Two local businesses, Snazaroo and The Lighting Company are prospective clients for the new industrial units as they look to expand, and potentially free up other units for smaller businesses to move into.
