A free conference for adults with Asperger's and higher functioning autism is to be held at Falmouth University next month.

Life Skills with Autism is a collaboration between Spectrum, the South West’s leading autism charity, and FxpectrUm, an autism society from the university, and is being funded by Cornwall Autism Partnership Board.

The conference will be held at Falmouth University's Exchange Green Room between 9am and 6pm on March 17.

Professionals from various services, including experts from Spectrum, will be doing 20-minute talks followed by focus groups with attendees to share what is working for them and what needs improving.

To book a place contact Spectrum’s Pearl Centre on 01872 278378 or email pearl@spectrumassd.org.

Spectrum’s Pearl Centre, in Cathedral Lane, Truro, is a resource hub for people with autism and their families and has helped more than 4,000 people since it opened its doors in April 2012.

It is a place for people to get information and advice on Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and associated conditions. It acts as an information and resource hub to families, individuals, carers, organisations and statutory authorities.

The centre runs several regular events, such as open sessions, which provide an opportunity for people to put their questions to a clinical psychologist and behavioural expert.
